Carter Reservoir Wild Herd Preservation
In the summer of 2006 our family made a trip to visit close friends in Cedarville, California. We spent the weekend observing the wild horses that roam the area close to our friends home. What a beautiful experience it was to see them free and living among their family bands.
I came to learn this herd was very unique in its own way. By being isolated for many years it was able to keep most of its genetic DNA intact. My thought was, "This herd is worth protecting".
Now many years later, we are in a position to help preserve The Carter Reservoir Herd. A few Carters were captured in 2014 and we adopted 2 Dun Mares. They are being gentled and will become our Representatives of The Carter Reservoir Herd. We hope this will bring awareness to others inorder to keep this wild herd intact and free forever!
Shaders For Senior Mustang Stalls UPDATE:
Project Completed! We would like to thank all who helped with this project. Everyone who made donations and volunteered to complete it. We were blessed with the receipt of a $1,500 grant from The Binky Foundation, needed to complete the project. The shade covers will allow us to use these stalls on a more permanent basis and free up other corrals for alturnative projects such as training areas and special needs horses.
